Location

Colorado Springs, CO

Completion Date

2017

Project Cost

$1M-$1.5M

Market Centre is a retail project in Colorado Springs that entailed the remodel of existing outdated retail space into new current retail. Seeing the potential in the outdated retail center, DPC Development enlisted Galloway’s service to breathe new life into the center, once home to a now vacant Albertson’s grocery store.

The project includes multiple buildings, including the conversion of two single-tenant pad buildings to multi-tenant retail.

Challenges include outdated code compliance, updating utilities, merging new design intent with the existing structure, and environmental assessments.

Additionally, Galloway worked with the current tenants to help ensure a smooth process during construction.

Considerations were made to existing vehicle and pedestrian circulation when planning the revised site layout, as well as existing storefront access.

Galloway also worked closely with the general contractor on a shortened construction timeline and more complex sequencing in order to minimize impact on current business operations.
