West Valley Logistics Center

Located in Salt Lake City, this project divides 434 acres into industrial lots in multiple phases. Galloway designed key improvements such as a sewer lift station, sewer and water systems, storm drain infrastructure, and new and widened roads. Near the Rudy and Northpoint Duck Clubs and wetlands, the project prioritizes water quality management. Instead of traditional storm drains, the roads have roadside swales with infiltration galleries to reduce runoff to sensitive areas.

The facility was also designed with long-term adaptability in mind, offering nearly 6 million square feet across 15 buildings in varying stages of completion. With a mix of ready-to-lease facilities, pre-leasing opportunities, and build-to-suit sites, the campus can serve industries ranging from e-commerce and logistics to advanced manufacturing. Supported by scalable infrastructure and strategic site planning, the development is positioned to meet today’s needs while accommodating future growth, solidifying Salt Lake City’s role as a major distribution hub in the Intermountain West.

Environmental Considerations

From the outset, the West Valley Logistics Center was designed with a focus on balancing large-scale industrial development with protection of the surrounding natural environment.

Galloway led efforts to safeguard the nearby duck clubs and wetlands, ensuring sensitive ecosystems were preserved throughout construction. Key infrastructure improvements — including sewer, water, and storm drain systems — were designed not only to serve the project but also to responsibly manage runoff and protect water quality. By integrating environmental stewardship into the design and construction process, the project demonstrates that economic growth and ecological preservation can successfully coexist.
