The Beltway West project, situated next to Utah’s state office buildings in Taylorsville, Utah, involves constructing four single-story and one five-story commercial office building across 19.44 acres. Galloway’s role encompasses civil engineering and survey services, covering site layout, grading design, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, culinary water layout, and construction staking.
Throughout the design phase, close collaboration occurred with the canal company, Taylorsville City, and the sewer and water districts to address existing site conditions. The design involved digging below the eight-foot-deep existing canal to accommodate proposed utilities, preventing conflicts between water, sewer, and storm drains. This demanded detailed coordination to maintain consistent elevation and specific slope for the storm drain and sewer.
Site grading was meticulously planned, considering the unalterable infrastructure. An existing canal with rectangular concrete openings for inspection traversed the property. Grates were designed to fit these openings, ensuring safety by covering exposed sections.
The project is expected to reach completion by February 2025.
