A place for kids to explore, learn, and have fun! The renovated space is interactive and educational, and is a place where kids can discover and learn at the same time.
Working within the existing Gateway Commercial Center, our architecture team created a variety of large and small activity spaces, exhibit areas, classrooms, workshops, and offices responding to programmatic requirements ranging from toddlers to teenagers and their families. Additionally, created a new openings between the existing floors and mezzanines was constructed. A monumental entry stairwell and a new central organizing stairs were designed to both locate and direct the museum patrons. Two passenger elevators have been suspended within the structure to serve all floors. A 30 person elevator for transporting large exhibits and school groups from the street level to the 4th floor Enterprise Village was built over an existing parking garage.
The Story Factory, Kids Eye View, Media Central, The Studio, and the Children’s Garden all provide unique areas where a child can explore and let their imaginations wander.
The Junior Achievement’s Biztown located on the 4th floor creates a kid size city where elementary school classes learn about the free enterprise system through hands-on experience.
