Galloway was the subcontractor for the design and development of two existing fleet fueling facilities at 6th Ave. and Federal Blvd. and one new facility at 48th Ave. and High St.
Galloway’s development services for each facility included all design work related to fueling, such as underground fuel storage tanks and fuel piping, fuel dispenser islands, overhead canopies, foundations, etc. Galloway was also contracted for the design and upgrade of maintenance fluid systems that included lines and storage for oil, transmission, brake, and other essential fluids.
48th Ave. and High St. Location – This new site was designed to accommodate 180 school buses. Sited on a former sanitary landfill, the site required more robust foundation designs, including helical piers for tanks and islands to mitigate soil settling.
6th Ave. and Federal Blvd. Location – This existing facility was in need of updates to the fueling and maintenance fluid systems for 80 school buses. Galloway coordinated the installation of a new oil and water separator, bus wash equipment, and a propane delivery system.
8th Ave. and Federal Blvd. Location – This existing facility was also in need of updates to the fueling and maintenance fluid systems for 200 school buses. Galloway coordinated the installation of new electrical systems for an existing employee lounge, new central bus heating systems for all buses, and new stormwater control measures for fuel storage tank and fuel dispenser areas. Galloway successfully integrated the new systems with existing fuel storage tanks and revamped site and parking lot lighting for adjacent car parking.
