This project is a Shea Properties infrastructure development consisting of a 28.56 acre parcel in Douglas County, Colorado. It encompasses the northwest corner of East Main Street and Chambers Road. The development includes infrastructure for 75 single family lots including private roadways, open space/park area, and trails.
Galloway worked closely with the Meridian Metropolitan District and Douglas County on the design and approvals of the public infrastructure required for this development. Project scope included:
- Earthwork analysis and overlot grading design, and coordination for mass import and material placement
- Design of an internal collector roadway system serving the internal portion of the site
- Addition of acceleration/deceleration lanes to Main Street to serve the development
- Parker Road collector roadway improvements (brought up to collector standards and extension of roadway)
- Modifications to existing regional detention and water quality pond (including addition of a maintenance access/path, replaced existing outlet control structure with new one, added trickle channel and forebay)
- Erosion control design and best management practices to minimize the environmental impact of development
- Design of public utility infrastructure including storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and potable water lines
- Extension of reclaimed irrigation main line across Main Street for connection to on-site system
- Undergrounding of overhead power lines including alignment, sleeving plans, and coordination with Xcel and other dry utility providers
- Design of a meandering ROW trail along Main Street as well as internal sidewalks/trails along internal street network
