Exchange at Indian Trail Apartments

The Exchange at Indian Trail is a new 320-unit garden-apartment community in Indian Trail, North Carolina. Spanning 24.44 acres, the complex offers a diverse selection of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units across thirteen thoughtfully designed floor plans, within five distinct building layouts. The community includes amenities such as a grand clubhouse with a lounge, resort style pool, state of the art fitness center and wellness studio, private garages, and a bark park.

Galloway’s architecture team began the design process by coordinating with land planners and consulting engineers to refine the site plan, unit layouts, and building types. Given the site’s proximity to an active railway, our team increased the site’s distance from the railway. We also collaborated closely with the landscape designer to incorporate effective noise-reduction elements. This process resulted in detailed exterior elevations, which we then presented to the owner for approval. All residential units were designed as two-to four-story Type V wood-frame buildings to balance functionality and aesthetics.

The final design features effective floor plans that enhance comfort, promote movement, and maximize space. Key highlights include a welcoming open courtyard with a clubhouse and walkway between the buildings, spacious open concept living areas, and ample storage,
