The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) services the most remote parts of Utah, including the Milford region. Recognizing the need for an improved maintenance facility, UDOT enlisted Galloway for programming and design services for a new 17,622 sf facility in Milford, Utah.
This design-build project delivery employed tilt-up panel construction with specialized concrete pouring techniques, creating a slab that minimizes joints, cracks, and maintenance needs. The facility boasts nine pull-through storage bays, a repair bay with lift and maintenance areas, a fueling station, indoor wash bays, covered salt storage, and brine storage tanks. Designed for versatility, the site doubles as salt storage and a garage for various vehicles.
To address environmental concerns, the design of the wash bay incorporates elements to control salt residue, preventing it from draining into stormwater or open pond runoff channels.
