Lark on Woodmen

At the intersection of Woodman and Powers, scenic State Highway 21, Lark on Woodmen is a new 254-unit apartment development located near downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado, offering excellent accessibility for its residents. The project provides much-needed housing and a desirable community setting in the Colorado Springs area. The 12.2-acre complex features 13 buildings with six different floor plans, including one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, ranging in size from 575 to 1,264 sf.

The community fosters connections among residents with amenities such as a clubhouse, courtyard oasis, and leasing office featuring a resort-style pool, patio, outdoor kitchen, coffee bar, and lounges. It also offers a spacious state-of-the-art fitness center, a bark park, and dog washing stations.

The mountain craftsman-style design seamlessly blends with the regional context, adapting to existing grade changes while creating an inviting new community in the area. The three-story apartments and support buildings were constructed with Type V wood materials, ensuring durability and a contemporary design.

Galloway provided architectural design services from initial planning through occupancy, including permitting and inspections with the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department. We worked closely with the owner during the planning and design phases to help ensure that their vision for the project was fully realized.

Due to the existing grade change across the site, our team collaborated closely with the civil engineer on the proposed grading, while also controlling snowmelt and stormwater management. Some buildings include basements and elevators, and all feature attached garages. With outdoor access from every apartment, residents can conveniently enjoy fresh air and stunning views of the Front Range.
