As the commercial and urban center for the Uintah Basin, Vernal City provides most services to the majority of the surrounding region.
The facility provides critical additional space, addresses security concerns, and creates a true ‘civic center’ for the city. The Vernal Council Chambers were designed with a flexible format that allows the Council Chambers to function as the Justice Court.
The project incorporates many sustainable strategies and has achieved a LEED® Silver rating with the USGBC. One of the key strategies was the use of a ground source heat exchange system set below the parking lot.
