Seeking their “100-year home,” Ambleside Colorado purchased an existing 50,000-square-foot church and church school building in Lone Tree, Colorado. Galloway provided architectural design, civil engineering, surveying, commissioning, site development, MEP engineering, interior design, landscape architecture, structural engineering, and traffic engineering services to renovate the facility into a private K-12 Christian school for generations to come.
Galloway’s teams worked within the existing building layout to properly integrate wiring, HVAC, and ductwork. We also guided and educated the client throughout the entire process, including a major State Implementation Plan (SIP) and Planned Unit Development (PUD) amendments.
The following aspects were also addressed:
The interior design departs from the traditional K-12 primary color palette, instead featuring soft blues, greens, and grays, along with geometric shapes, warm brown LVT flooring, finished walls, framed photos, and plants to create a “homey” environment. To complement the natural décor, the atrium features a large skylight with views of the Rocky Mountains.
Classroom finishes remain consistent throughout, except in upper-grade classrooms, where a subtle gradient is applied to the carpet tiles. To stay within budget, original elements of the existing sanctuary were incorporated into the new design.
