67 acres
Preserve at Mesa Creek is a 67-acre residential development in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with 123 single-family units and 286 apartments. Of the 67 acres, 24 are dedicated to wetland preservation, wildlife habitat, and recreational uses for residents to enjoy for generations. The proposed plan enhances the PlanCOS Majestic Landscape concept with a functional and sustainable design that provides for public safety, flood hazard mitigation, and maintenance of all associated facilities.
The land use is harmonious with the surrounding existing and future land uses, and the design ties into existing public facilities and utilities and meets city parking requirements. Internal walkways and trails were designed through the open space areas to promote a pedestrian-friendly community and connect to future regional systems, including the Garden of the Gods. The property provides convenient walking and driving access to bus routes, trails, and parks. A private internal street system will be included for safe vehicular accessibility throughout the community.
