TDM Implementation and Commute Program Management for South San Francisco Sites

To enhance sustainable commuting and strengthen tenant relationships, our team implemented new transportation demand management (TDM) programs across campus sites in South San Francisco. These programs were designed to engage employers directly, providing personalized, company-branded commuter services that promote transit, carpooling, vanpooling, and cycling.

Tenant Commuter Services

Commuter program services were provided as an amenity to tenants, offering training, marketing, promotions, and outreach to increase participation in alternative commuting options. Annual commuter surveys were conducted to track program performance and establish historical records.

Benefits to Tenants and Recognition

These commuter programs supported tenant recruitment and retention efforts, helping tenants position themselves as “employers of choice.” Engaged tenants strengthened their relationship with HCP, Inc., reinforcing the company’s reputation as a Landlord of Choice. Five South San Francisco HCP projects were recognized as National Best Workplaces for Commuters (SITES), demonstrating the success and impact of these TDM initiatives.
