Galloway is providing design services for the expanded Midfield air traffic facility at the United States Air Force Academy.

The United States Air Force Academy midfield facility is an air traffic control facility for pilot training in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The new 8,000 sf single-story addition will add briefing rooms, a cadet lounge, office space, and a dispatch center. The repairs include a 3,400 sf interior renovation of offices, a conference room, and a designated flight simulator area.

The addition will match the existing construction of precast and aluminum storefronts, and the existing interior will be renovated to match the new facilities. This facility’s expansion and repair will allow all pilot-training elements of the cadet training mission to be in one facility to accommodate existing needs and future growth.

Services provided by Galloway include architectural design, civil engineering, commissioning, interior design, and structural engineering services. The design was completed in January 2022, and construction was completed in July 2024.
