The Bureau of Reclamation (BoR) Warehouse project involved designing a 10,000 sf, pre-engineered metal building for storing heavy equipment and performing equipment maintenance. Set on an 83,000Â sf site, the project was set aside for a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (Echo Construction) and utilized a design-build delivery method.
Galloway provided comprehensive design services, including architecture, surveying, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering. The design incorporated insulated wall panels, a metal standing seam roof, large overhead doors, a deep foundation with grade beams and structural slabs, and HVAC systems with heat pump fan coil units. The warehouse also featured space for offices and future zoning for office and warehouse areas. The design was tailored to withstand 159 mph wind loads, included site components like a leech field, grading for a 100-year storm, and addressed utilities such as sanitary sewer, domestic water, and electrical (208V-3 Phase, 200A power).
Coordination with the pre-engineered metal building manufacturer, local jurisdictions, and the BoR was essential to meet regulatory requirements and obtain approval for the design. The warehouse will serve as a vital facility for the BoR to carry out its mission across Colorado.
