Galloway is providing civil engineering, survey, fueling design, landscape architecture, and site development services for the Mesa Ridge and Syracuse shopping center in Fountain, Colorado. The project, anchored by a King Soopers Marketplace, aims to establish a vibrant commercial hub that will meet the needs of the local community. The project includes in‑line tenant retail spaces, a fueling station, and provision for future retail outlots, including Whataburger, ENT Credit Union, Sourdough & CO, Dave’s Hot Chicken, Great Clips, and Pacific Dental.
The scope of work involved comprehensive civil engineering design, encompassing earthwork/grading analysis, regional detention, and water quality, and the design of on and off-site utility infrastructure and roadway infrastructure. Notable elements include the design of a new roundabout on Syracuse and improvements to Mesa Ridge Parkway–a Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) highway. Additionally, Galloway conducted survey and subdivision plating, along with landscaping and irrigation design for all on-site and public improvements.
Galloway successfully navigated a compressed seven-month timeframe, completing all design work and obtaining entitlements approvals through collaborative efforts with town, CDOT, the developer, and King Soopers. The project also presented complexities in roadway design due to the necessity of accommodating numerous traffic impact upgrades. The roadway improvements at the intersection of Mesa Ridge Parkway and Syracuse will benefit the travelers along the corridor.
