Second Creek Farm Park

Galloway was selected by the City of Commerce City to provide an overall master plan and construction documents for Second Creek Farm Park, located near 90th Avenue and Telluride Street and adjacent to a future elementary school. Design goals and priorities for this 10-acre site include:

Provide good pedestrian and bicycle access
Ensure year-round use with topography and soils that support quality play fields and facilities
Primarily serve residents within a one-mile radius, offering open play spaces, an ADA-compliant perimeter walking/jogging trail, a fully inclusive playground, picnic shelters, a hard-court area, a restroom with plumbing, drinking fountains, a youth ball field, and general landscaping
Balance active and passive recreation based on neighborhood needs and preferences

Partnering with the City, Galloway led early community-engagement efforts to develop design alternatives and build community support. These efforts included visual-preference and online surveys that guided design solutions meeting both community needs and the City’s goal of providing a diverse, thoughtful parks system. Galloway also provided early design development, site analysis, and amenity selection for improvements along the connecting Second Creek corridor trail and open space.
