The state-of-the-art mammography suite at St. George Regional Hospital is part of the North Tower Women’s Health Center. Galloway was tasked with redesigning and building-out a 6,000-sf shelled space on the first floor of the newly constructed north tower, consolidating all imaging and mammogram services. This facility offers various diagnostic procedures, including ultrasounds, mammograms, DEXA scans, and biopsies. The interior is designed to create a warm and comfortable environment for patients, enhancing their overall experience.
In collaboration with Intermountain Health, Galloway completed the redesign and build-out of the existing shell space, focusing on optimizing the flow and functionality of the area. Patients can transition smoothly from the reception and waiting area to dressing rooms, as well as to a separate waiting room and procedure room. By separating patient areas from staff offices and operational spaces, the design minimizes interruptions and ensures privacy. Expanding the reception and waiting area into a spacious hallway significantly improved patient comfort and the sense of openness during waiting times. Centralizing all diagnostic services for women’s health at this location within the Women’s Health Center aligns with Intermountain’s mission.
Every aspect of the construction process was meticulously coordinated to effectively minimize the transmission of sound and vibration through the floor slab. The design consolidated ceiling structures and employed mechanical connections whenever possible to minimize disruptions in the space above.
