Located on a 4-acre site along a prominent corridor in Fresno, California, the Blackstone Self Storage development brings much-needed storage options to the local community while transforming a long-vacant piece of land. Galloway provided architecture design, civil engineering, development services, landscape architecture, MEP engineering, and structural engineering services.
The site includes an existing retail building that remains untouched, while the rear 2.8 acres were redeveloped into a new 120,000 square-foot self-storage facility with 859 units. The facility includes three stories of climate-controlled interior storage, drive-up units on the ground level, and covered RV and boat storage with canopies.
To meet local jurisdictional requirements and integrate with the surroundings, the design features an upgraded exterior that mirrors the look of a modern office building with enhanced glazing, architectural articulation, and thoughtful landscaping.
Our team guided the client through the city’s stringent review process, produced numerous exhibits to support jurisdictional approvals, and maintained a responsive, proactive approach to ensure project milestones aligned with the client’s master schedule.
