City of Bluffdale
This is the city’s second fire station, serving the east side of Bluffdale, Utah. The new fire station provides fire and EMS services to the surrounding residences, educational, business, and manufacturing facilities. Historically, emergency services in this area have been challenging, as the site is divided by a railroad corridor with limited cross-access.
The architectural design incorporated many sustainable elements into the fire station.
Other design features include a roof-mounted PV system that supplies approximately 50% of the station’s power use and a high-efficiency HVAC system utilizing geothermal heat exchange. In addition to efficient system design, Energy Star-rated appliances were provided.
