Galloway Packs STEM Kits for Utah Foster Care

April 30th, 2024

At Galloway, we strongly believe in promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) exposure for young people. As part of National Service Week, our Utah offices took a break from their regular work to serve the community.

The Utah STEM Action Center hosted a Pack Tinker Totes event to benefit Utah Foster Care. Our team spent the morning assembling and packing Tinker Totes, which are STEM take-home kits for foster care children between the ages of 5 and 18. These kits contained gears, electrical boards, motors, and popsicle sticks that could be used to create STEM-related activities and provide engaging tasks for them at home. The totes also included multiplayer games with STEM themes.

“This was an excellent opportunity for Galloway to share their passion for their work with the community, while promoting STEM education and skills that help encourage and prepare young people for the future,” said Taylor Smith, development services coordinator at Galloway. “We plan to continue our philanthropic efforts with STEM Utah by going into schools and sharing our experience in engineering and architecture.”

Employees from our Farmington, Pleasant Grove, and Salt Lake City offices worked together to pack 100 Tinker Totes for the foster kids in Utah. Our team was thrilled to participate in this event as it allowed us to give back to the community and promote STEM education among young people.
