Galloway provided landscape architectural services for the 5.5-acre Mile High Greyhound Retail Park master plan in Commerce City, CO. The design emphasized placemaking and enhanced walkability within a predominantly car-oriented retail environment. By focusing on site organization, space planning, and a thoughtful planting strategy, the team created safe, accessible pedestrian pathways and gathering spaces.
The master plan not only met local jurisdiction requirements but also introduced a connected network of sidewalks that link the retail area to the surrounding neighborhood. An elevated perimeter landscape design buffers drive-throughs and parking areas from adjacent residential uses, balancing functionality with aesthetics.
To further support community integration, the design incorporated a layered perimeter planting palette that provides both effective screening and visual appeal. Galloway’s scope included planning and entitlement support, perimeter landscape architecture, and irrigation design for the overall site. Through conceptual planning methods and a collaborative process, the team delivered a master plan and landscape framework that aligned with the client’s vision and the site’s long-term needs.
