Muller Engineering Office Expansion

Muller Engineering is expanding its workplace in Lakewood, Colorado. Having previously completed tenant improvements within the building, our architecture and interior design teams were engaged to design an 8,783 sf addition in an adjacent vacant suite. Drawing on our familiarity with the space, we worked to blend the new expansion seamlessly with the existing office for a cohesive, unified feel.

To create a more open and collaborative environment, walls were removed and the client’s existing furniture and flooring were reused for a cost-effective and sustainable approach. Large circular pendant light fixtures were incorporated throughout the space, adding modern design elements and visual consistency.

A key highlight of the expansion is a large conference room designed to accommodate company-wide lectures, presentations, meetings, and potluck gatherings. To support both functionality and comfort, the room was outfitted with acoustic ceiling clouds to minimize sound reverberation.

Additional improvements included converting the former wellness room into a gender-neutral restroom and relocating the wellness room elsewhere in the office to maintain staff access. The self-serve mini-mart, once tucked into a copy room, was relocated adjacent to the breakroom, providing a more convenient and purposeful amenity.

Behind the scenes, our team devoted significant effort to evaluating the building’s existing HVAC system to ensure consistent temperature control and airflow throughout the office.
